Imagine you hit start at the title screen, then immediately play Emerald Coast. And those games have aged SO much better.īUT it's 2012! We have fancy computers. You beat a level, then went to the next one. Sonic Adventure 2 may have marked the series last outing on a Sega console - the Dreamcast had been discontinued months earlier - but it was also the first. No cut scenes, voice acting, or anything. Back then, you turned on the console, hit start, and played. This is why I'll always love the old Genesis games more. I just got a Dreamcast and tried replaying this game. I'm talking about how there's a brilliant Sonic game buried under cut scenes, bad voice acting, glitchy "adventure fields", and a story line I could care less about. And I'm not talking about difficulty, controls, or any of that.
